Description of the excursion

„A day in Paradise“
We start our excursion in the south of Tenerife and take the direction Puerto Santiago up to Santiago del Teide, where our exciting journey to Masca begins. On our way we will stop at the beautiful „Mirador Archipenque“(adapted WC). Enjoy the breathtaking nature and view during our ride to small mountain village in the north-west of the island. Many years ago Masca was called the „lost village“, because the street consisted only of sand and it was exclusive accessible by horse, donkey or feet. The street was not trafficable not till the 80ties. Masca is situated in the Teno Mountains and is secluded in 600 attitude difference. The specialties of Masca are its goat cheese and the cactus fruit. After a stop at the „Mirador Cruz del Hilda“ (large WC – not suitable for wheelchairs) with an amazing view over the Masca valley, we will continue via Buenavista del Norte to Garachico (adapted WC in a café). This small, unique place Garachico was founded approximately 500 years ago by italian traders and was developed to a thrive seaport. The cultivation of sugar cane and wine in the area of Garachico pandered to the development into the biggest emporium between the Canary Islands, England, Netherlands and America. Garachico was for a long time the most important place of Canary Islands. Dating from this time you can find here glorious townhouses and monasteries. Our return will be via Arguayo and Guia de Isora back to the south of Tenerife.
